House Leaders 2019/2020
The Heads of House recently delivered an Assembly to the Sixth Form students. In this Assembly we had the opportunity to look back to 2013 when the House system was first established here at DESC. Our current Year 11, 12 and 13 students may remember Mr Vizzard delivering Assemblies to each of the Houses – Desert, Earth, Sky and Coast. He outlined his vision to make the House system a core part of DESC and, through the pastoral system, create leaders of the future. When he gave this message, his focus was very much on the younger students at the time. These students are now in their senior years at the College, they have acquired a variety of leadership skills throughout their DESC journey and are ready and prepared to take on student leadership roles for this academic year and embrace the responsibilities and challenges that come with the role.
The House Leadership teams have been busy shortlisting and interviewing candidates for these prestigious House Student Leadership positions. Year on year the applicants get stronger and it was an extremely difficult decision to select students for these sought-after positions. House Leaders work with staff to set direction, build an inspiring vision and help create an environment that is both dynamic and exciting, in which all of our students can flourish. Our new team of House leaders have already been busy planning and organising events, supporting the Inter-House activities programme, working on team building initiatives and preparing to deliver their first Assembly.
The House Leadership teams are really looking forward to working with their respective student leaders and we are delighted to announce the House leaders for this academic year. Please click HERE to view the House Leadership Teams in full.
