Chamber Choir at the British Embassy
As the sun set on Monday, 11th November, a lone trumpeter played the Last Post and silence fell around the grounds of the British Embassy in Dubai. Two minutes’ silence was observed to honour our servicemen and women, and the music of Elgar’s Ave Verum drifted across the lawn outside the Consul General’s residence sung by DESC’s Chamber Choir, as poppies appeared to float down the walls. Once again, we were privileged to be a part of this wonderful Remembrance Service and the appreciation of the audience was evident. As ever, the choir conducted themselves with maturity and professionalism, and their musicality and attention to detail was outstanding. We would once again like to thank the British Embassy in Dubai and the Consul General, Andrew Jackson, for the invitation and this wonderful opportunity for our students.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning, we will remember them.
